These people play an important part in forming and implementing your plan. But what exactly are they, what's the difference and do you need one?
Local Area Coordinator (LAC)
Your Local Area Coordinator will work with you to help you enter and make the most of the NDIS. This includes helping you to find services and resolve any ongoing issues you are having with either the National Disability Insurance Agency or your service provider. Supports Coordinator
So, you have entered into the NDIS and received a plan that outlines your support needs, goals and funding – now what? This is where a Supports Coordinator can step in.
A Supports Coordinator will bring your plan to life and put you in touch with the right providers and services in line with your needs and goals. A Supports Coordinator can be your 'right hand' and become your go-to contact person throughout your NDIS journey. Bedford currently provides this service, so remember to ask for it to be in your plan.
Plan Manager
A Plan Manager can help manage the financial side of your plan. This can include:
- Organising payments to providers
- Processing claims and invoices
- Tracking budgets
