This tax time appeal will help to give Bedford clients the tools to build their skills and create opportunities.
This year, Bedford is launching a tax deductible fundraising appeal called ‘The Bedford Project’.
This appeal will help in the enhancements and renovation of regional Day Options sites, which provide social programs and capacity-building classes to hundreds of clients in our country-based locations.

Each regional Bedford Day Options site has a specific project they have identified as really important that they would direct any funds to;
At Port Lincoln, Bedford plan to create a cafe corner, with a commercial-grade coffee machine and access to barista training. Clients will learn skills in money handling, customer service and technical skills to operate specialist equipment. This project will also bring clients closer together and build skills which may lead to work in Open Employment in the local community.
Whyalla’s Day Options has a block of land that is the perfect location for a community gardening project. The project requires investment in new garden beds, tools and a plumbed toilet block. Not only will the space welcome public visitors, the fresh ingredients grown in the garden will be harvested and used by clients in their cooking programs.
Our busy Port Pirie site is fast running out of room! A shed at the back of the property is ripe for renovation, and the plan is to turn it into a beautiful new music studio and performing arts space. If funds stretch, the grounds (a little weedy at present!) will be spruced up, with the creation of a veggie garden to support a cooking program and provide education around healthy eating.
Wallaroo plans include a kitchenette in their Art Room with built-in cupboards for storage. The participants are also keen performers, so expanding their performing arts program with the purchase of costumes and props will enable them to put on shows in the community.
Bedford is not funded by the government so we rely upon generous supporters who may choose to donate to one of our Appeals, buy a Bedford lottery ticket, or perhaps attend a fundraising event - this support makes a big difference to people with disability in South Australia.
